Od 4 stycznia w dzielnicy Terweijde w Culemborgu, mieście w środkowej Holandii, obowiązuje stan wyjątkowy, informuje De Volkskrant. Pod koniec roku wybuchły tam gwałtowne zamieszki z powodu narastającego już od kilku lat napięcia między społecznościami pochodzenia marokańskiego i molukańskiego (indonezyjskiego). Obie grupy etniczne, z których każda liczy koło setki prowodyrów, stosują wobec siebie zasadę „oko za oko, ząb za ząb”, pisze amsterdamski dziennik.

W miejscach publicznych obowiązuje zakaz zgromadzeń powyżej czterech osób, postawiono w stan pogotowia wozy policyjne. Są nawet „betonowe zapory, które mają uniemożliwić wichrzycielom ucieczkę”, zauważa Trouw. Ale dla niektórych młodych ludzi „zatrzymanie jest powodem do dumy” i wcale nie będzie działać odstraszająco, ocenia szef sił porządkowych. Burmistrz miasta ma nadzieję, że rozmowy z dwiema społecznościami doprowadzą do „trwałego rozwiązania”.
